homemade battery pack for 360 controller

i was just messing around i found a old ipod nano battery and this what i put together

so the purple wire which is really white i dont noe if ishould hook it up to the j1 pin
heres a pic sorry if 2 blurry i used a cellphone camera

thanks yea it works good i got bored one day and started soldering random things and it sort of just hit me of doing this but the battery dies faster so i switch it with a battery from a cell phone(i830 nextel) and i haven't had no problem it charges with the the cable charger for the original battery packs  and i get like double the life of regular battery's so it was worth it

Does it make any difference when the controller is rumbling.  ie. does it shake around at all inside or anything? or do you the phone battery strapped in somehow.  This seems like an awesome idea to try.

I imagine he has some sort of way of keeping it the the batt compartment...maybe tape  :dntknw:

no it fits tight in there i have no problems and  i also cut up some things from the battery cover holder thing and made one that fit and stay closed cool right?..... u guys should go 4 it

ive actually done something very much the same here. you will need a regulator to charge the battery, you cannot simply wire it directly into the controller. i used a pcb i took out of a gutted plug and play battery.
