Wire for speaker

I just put in a larger speaker wired in parallel. I'm using the original wires that were used by the speaker. I am wondering if the speaker works if i use 30 awg kynar wire instead of the regular speaker wire.

ok thanks. im going to take off the fat old wire and use kynar later.
EDIT: I switched to kynar wire and it works  . Later i will try to find a smaller speaker that will be internal.

Hook a LM386 to it. That's what they were build for.
