PSP LED's Question
« on: February 04, 2008, 11:11:01 PM »
Ok ive seen some of the mods with the LED's on the triggers, im a total nub when it comes to this, i wanted to do 2 blue LED's on the triggers, and my questions are:

1. Do i need a resistor?

2. In the picture i have here, how many wires do i have to use and if i need to use 2 wires, do i solder one to each hole into one of the "positive" parts on the board?

3. And the LED's have the  -|  which points to negative if im correct?

4. In the same picture i posted, the squares, when i have the LED's mounted and everything, do i have to run the wire back from the L trigger back to one of the squares that has negative charge? or am i wrong

1. well not for blue but if you don't want to risk them blowing out
2. 2 wires negative green to the right and positive is the correct
3. -l the point is always the negative
4. one is negative can go to any of the green points and postive goes to red circles no need to solder to each one

ok thnx for the info man, but i have just a little more questions, and if u can plz answer them, im really wanting to do this mod, i havent even used a soldering iron b4

1. Do the 2 wires have to hook up to the led? one on each side, where the negative from the green square is soldered to the negative side of the LED, and the positive is on the opposite of the negative side of the LED?

2. If I do things from question 1, do those 2 wires have to run from the R-Trigger to L-Trigger, and if they do, am i supposed to run them back from the L-Trigger to the positive and negative points, or can i just leave them at the L-Trigger and NOT run them back?

3. In doing 2 wires only, if they do have to go all the way through to the L-Trigger, that would mean i have to solder from the R-Trigger's wires onto the L-Trigger, right?

4. And Finally, can i use 4 wires instead of 2, so i can run the the 2 set of wires independently to each LED, instead of having to soder them together, and can i use 2 the two positive points on the board which is the 2 points, so i can run them individually, and can that same thing  can be applied to the negative where i can use 2 negative points insted of 1, so i can run  the LED's independently

Thanx for ur help, srry if im asking too many questions i just want to get this right, if i dont learn from these set of questions can someone post a picture of JUST the triggers already wired?

thanx again, McLovin

What do resistors do?
having a higher post count doesn't earn respect in the forums, quality posts do.

thanks,

What do resistors do?

it should be obvious from its name but it resists voltage
