actually besides that not being a ton of money you could make a mold out of an existing psp case then fill it with liquid hot metal. and crack it out. But then theres the money. :). I would just but a nice case made of metal with a lock and bubble rap.

Ken i wouldnt have done it any other way

ok i kinda get it its hard and expensive  :greedy: so wat about a reinforced face plate like maybe put little sheet metal plates on the inside of the face plate, sort of like triming and patching the weak parts of face plate  wait it doesnt have to be molten metal wat about a sheet metal plate the size of the face plate and bend it into shape then weld all the little parts like the holes for the screws and stuff  :psp:

if some one knows how to make the mold to put the molten metal in tell me maybe i can do it myself i just need to know how

edit:
yeh im sure that will happen, steel is essentially the same as plastic :taunt:
steel aint one bit like plastic but dosent plastic burn when its hot i dont get how the make the plastic face plates even if some company does make the plates their going to sell them for more then the psp are worth alone :greedy:

I lol'ed at that for a minute. Anyway it's like Ryan said. Unless you can get a Cnc'ed faceplate, or else get a program like Rhino 3D and make one, then get a millimachine ( forgot how to spell it, dont sue me :P) and make it, then you're pretty boned, mate. If anything I suggest hiding the stuff or try to make a case for your psp, like one made outta nerf, I know there's one for the DS and that thing can seriously hold a beating.

the faceplate wont cost much to make. the only thing thats ahrd to do is the rivets of the underside of the faceplate. like where the screws go in. that is pretty much the only problem with making a custom faceplate. it would only cost you about $500 for stainless steel...

What kinda hammer does your mom use??? :dribble:
i'm guessing if you have steel case on the screen you won't be able to play on it anymore.  The screen is the most vulnerable spot so u have three choices to make
1. have a metal case that opens to play
2. have a metal faceplate covering the screen too (will work only if you mom uses a small hammer not a 20 lb. hammer)
3. get rid of your mom    :x:

it depends how mad she is when she broke my xboxs she thru them down the stairscase then she took them out side and used the hammer :cry2: it was carpenter hammer those basic metal hammer you know? the first psp slim i had she smashed it against the fridge and then she took it to the garage and smashed wat was left with a hammer and my dad he stomped the viruises out of my computer he was mad at me :cry2: for no reason and he took out his anger on my computer he kicked it thru it around it was pretty crazy i bet i could have fixed it but he took the mobo and the screen so i couldn't even try now im at his work useing his company computers he cant smash these :taunt:

you know for the screen it would be nice to have like a thick glass like bullet proof glass  from cars so if she did hit it and smash it around only stuff that could break is the mobo and the chips and inside

so this psp would be bullet proof but not bomb proff only way she so could break it would be to blow it up but that would cost hella money to make a bullet proof psp

your not serious that your mom and dad really do that i find it hard to belive they must have money to burn if they do i cant bevise that an adult could have so little respect for things that are so expensive how many £1000's have they wasted smashing your consules and that bit about throwing your xbox down the stairs and then smashing it with a hammer dosunt seem real seems like somthing of smashmystuff.com :faint:

idk what you mean

that bit about throwing your xbox down the stairs and then smashing it with a hammer dosunt seem real seems like somthing of smashmystuff.com :faint:

but it's true she really did throw it down the stairs...she thought it would crack open like an egg or sumthing but all i remember is that the little thing that sticks out when you eject a cd from the xbox it came out somehow and snaped off and the rest of the stuff was fine thats why she got...well she didnt get a hammer first she got a stool from the kitchen and smashed it with that a few times then i was crying my eyes out :cry2: and she left to get the other one and did the same thing i didn't know wheather to save the smashed one or to try and get the other one away from her so i just grabed the smashed up one ran to the garage she ran after me and took from me and that where she got the hammer and used the part of the hammer you pull out nails with and destroyed the rest of it from there there was a few parts that where still good so i took that one to my friends house he lived a few houses down the street and when i came back i found the other one in the garbage already smashed up the green circle on top was smashed in other then that it looked ok so i took that one to his house too then i was just picking up other stuff that came off the xbox like the whole entire front section where the buttons are that came off from the first one it look ok but the wire part that connects it to the xbox was ripped off and that kinda made that part useless they both had something really important broken off there was the xbox that didn't have the plate with the buttons cuz it got riped off and the other xbox got the top smashed in to the hard drive something like that i dont really remember this happened like when i was in 8th grade im 11th now so that was like two or three years ago well anyway a few days later i went to my friends house to see if we could save one if we could use parts from both of them to rebuild one but we didnt know  :censored: about moding or electronics so i tryed to sell them to this short fat kid that lived a block over from where we lived he only knew where i lived so i took the xboxs back to my house and he meet me over at my house to pick them up i was trying to get him to give me 40 dollars for the both of em but when i was giving him the xboxs my mom saw that i still had them so she got her hammer again and smashed them up right in front of us i told that stupid fat kid to take them and run but what do you expect he lives a block away and he cant run for crap he got scared when he saw my mom smashing them up so he just kinda took off empty handed and there i was again watching my mom finish off the xboxs this was the first console my mom broke well first two actually then she broke my psp and after that my dad broke my computer the psp i bought with my money the computer was a birthday present from my mom but i think my dad bought it the xboxs where both christamas presents one from my mom and the other from my cousin now all i got is a psp :psp: this is the longest i ever had a videogame console that i bought with my own money and hasn't goten smashed  :victory:

What did you do to make them that mad? I guess it wasn't that mad i had a friend in 6th grade his mom got so mad she threw his ps2 though a window from the 2nd floor because he didn't want to be the alter boy at church, I did that smart thing by backing away slowly and went home.

i never did anything to them it's cuz i always had bad grades and my mom blamed my video games  saying that i never did my homework and stuff like that which was kinda true but it wasn't the home work it was the test that they gave me at school if i  :censored: up the test my whole grade went down the drain but any way, that day my mom broke my xbox it was just cuz i didn't want to fold some towels and she was already kinda mad at my sisters for something so thats all it took for her to take her anger out on my xboxs when she broke my psp (the first slim i had) i was playing at the table in the kitchen and she was cooking something and when i put the psp down just to get something i forgot what i was going to get or why i put it down :dntknw: but when i put it down she snatched it  and said i was only going to get it back on the weekends but i didn't want to wait so i was begging for her to give it back :beg: ... (BTW this happened like around january this year) ... well i was there begging and begging and a few minutes later she said if i didn't calm down she was going to break it and i said i dont care i'll just buy another one :winker: and she said oh yeah we'll see about that... like i said we were in the kitchen and the fridge was right next to us so she banged it up on the side corner of fridge a few times i dont know :dntknw: exactly what happened to the psp :psp:  :cry2: but i do remember that the memory stick and the game inside poped out and i picked them up when they hit the floor :victory: the rest of the psp broke in to some smaller pieces and i picked those up to idk know why :dntknw: but i did :winker: ... the main chunk of the psp was still in my moms hand she didn't even smash it up that bad so she went to the garage and got the hammer this time it was more planned out i could tell she was already planning to break it cuz she new exactly where the hammer was... when she broke the xboxs she was asking me where the hammer was, like if i was going to tell her, well anyway... i followed her to the garage and i wanted to snatch the psp of the table where she was about to smash it  :x: but she was like go ahead stick your hand in there see what happens so i held back and grabed watever flew off the psp every time the hammer hit it, after she was done i dont remember what happened to the rest of the psp :dntknw: but i do remeber that i was picking up little parts that didnt look completely  :censored: up... the weirdest thing was that the umd door was still in the kitchen in one piece it was so perfect and shiny like a brand new psp :yess: but it was just the little door... i saved the parts that i could in a little plastic bag i just that i forgot if i thru it away or if i hid it somewhere :dntknw: that makes me hella mad  cuz i found this site and i could have used that umd door or the trigger that i had to have a back up if i mest up on something ... oh yeah when my dad broke my cpu it was the stupidest reason well actually i dont think he even had a reason he was just mad ... i was takeing a shower and everyone was waiting for me cuz we were going to a reasturant and my dad was just out side the bathroom rushing me he was like hurry the  :censored: up you take forever blah blah he was saying this in spanish ... i was already done takeing a shower, i was getting dressed and i was trying to tell him to just go and i would stay home and eat something but he was like no your not staying all you want to do is play your stupid computer and i think thats when the idea struck him :faint: he threatened me by saying he was going to break the computer if i didn't get out i was telling him hang on i'll be out in second and he didn't wait he just went to my room while i was still in the bathroom getting dressed and all i heard was a bunch of crashing and smashing stuff it was kinda scarying :fear: :fear: :faint: cuz i knew if i got out of the bathroom he would probably take off his belt and start whooping me with it so i just waited till he was done and when i got out there it was all smashed up my mom came up stairs and said what happened and was like what do you think theres a smashed up computer infront of us and an angry  guy down stairs she said just forget you can clean it up later so when we got to the resturant he didn't even have a  :censored: reservation and i felt like rubbing it in his face saying wtf!  :eyebrow: all the rush and you aint even got a reservation!! but my mom kinda tryed to stop me she was like dont push him so i keept quiet and after like 15 minutes we got our food ate then went home but on our way to the car i dont remember what happened but my mom and dad got mad at me for something and they kicked me out the car and said walk home i was kool with dat cuz i was hella full but i didn't want to go home and i didn't have anywhere else to go (BTW my house was like 5 blocks from the resturant wasn't very far) so i went to the park walk thru this one trail that leads to another city then i was walking around some weird neighboorhood then thru this residential area and i got a little lost for a while but i was like what the hell nothing matters now so i kept walking then eventually i figured out where i was and i followed the train tracks north and i got home really fast it was faster then walker thru the streets when i got home my mom was asking me where i was and she said my dad went to go look for me and said i was just walking around ... when i got to my room i found the keyboard the mouse and a whole bunch of  little plastic parts that didnt even look like they belong to the computer the plastic frame that goes on the lcd screen was broken the screen looked fine the monitor the box watever you call that thing it was all bent and stuff i got a pic of the computer
i think my dad was stomping on it cuz thats the only way it would have ended up like this...

EDIT:
What did you do to make them that mad? I guess it wasn't that mad i had a friend in 6th grade his mom got so mad she threw his ps2 though a window from the 2nd floor because he didn't want to be the alter boy at church, I did that smart thing by backing away slowly and went home.
at least that kids mom didn't go after the ps2 with a hammer  ... you could have backed away out of the room and take the ps2 so his mom would go after it then give it to your friend later  :hifive: but it's alittle late for that now..

lol true.

Man i would just keep my mouth closed and do what they say. who knows what will be next to break. :x:.
and like with the shower issue i would have walked out how i was when your dad sayed lets go.

man you should make a cast your face plate using um that pudy stuff that hardens then get  thin piece of metal or a pan and cut out the bottom or the side. believe me it is good to use. just use a pan your mom doesn't use.
i had to mold a cover for a chain for my goatcart so i used a pan my mom never used that thing held up with all the curb sliding bolder hitting abuse and was still in good shape. plus it was shinny. if it can hold up to hitting a bolder at 45 + mph then it can handle a hammer. it is also easy to bend with your fingers and a hammer and pliers. cut wood to the shape of the face plate curves or take the puddy mold and pore concrete over it to make a mold where you smash the hammer on the metal down to the inlayed mold in the concrete block. and you will get the face plate it works just heat up the metal with a burner to make it easier to mold and hit in rhythm it helps the metal shape faster and cleaner plus helps on the stress on your arms. Learn the rhythm of the metal don't hit on the back wave it is like hitting concrete.

If you do the wood make a cut of the angles and use the piece you cut out that is shaped like a wedge wrap it up in tape duck tape with paper towel on top then duck tape to stop the wood from splitting and hit the wedge on the metal to the shape you cut out and it should go right in place.

any way you do it you may have four corners with a little gap put solder had heat it up then file it to match.
done.

it is not hard just time consuming.

i have done a lot with metal and pans

wow i think your the only person that actually knows how to do this  :hifive:

i kinda get what your saying but i got a few questions  :dntknw:

- what kind of metal should i use to melt in the pan
- are you talking about the pudy that was on T.V. and when you squish it together it activates and later drys up and gets really hard
- what do you mean hit it with the hammer but dont hit on the back wave
- are you saying melt the pan or use the pan to hold the melting metal

other then those few things i dont get i think i can do this

Well use the pan metal not melt the metal in the pan. cant be done. metal has to get so hot that i reqoirs you go have a huge burner or a special contraption that pump out 1000 or so degrees constantly.it is so hot you use soda ash.as the charcoal. but the pan is already heated chromed and is easily bendable by hand and hammer.
cut up the pan
cut wood to the shape of the angles
use the wed of the wood cuts put paper tolls on the top then wrap all in duck tap
use wedge to bend metal in to the wood you cut
heat wood as much as you can to make easier to bend
hit with hammer in a rythym, clan ..clank..clank.keep even beat pattern. (if you stray you can make your wrist hurt and not much effect to bending shaping mettle)
Think sound wave a solid wave is better then a mixed wave.

sheat metal will work too if you dont want to cut your moms pan up.

the mettle that you can melt is to brittle. so you need to work with sheat metal and do the old fashion way of beat and smash to shape. get newspaper to to hold the hot metal.

if you want to make the concrete mold then you just need puddly play do that is used for art. it needs to get hard to make the shape of the face plate .
bucket to port concrete in
place mold of face plate with hanger through the top so you can pull it out latter in concrete on bucket.
let dry then remove the plaster puddy mold.
place metal (pan or sheet metal) on top of concrete.
get a piece of wood or something taped to hit down on metal to fit in mold
then hit away you may have to do some cuts to make some bends corner's more likely.
and bent a little by hand and foot.
get a stack of news paper to hit down on when you are making some bends with out the mold or wood. it kinda shapes to how you are hitting.

I use metal working tools like a special hammers that have diff bends angls on the head to shape the metal and steel hand molds of angles to beat in to.(so the wood that you tape very tight and thick will do the same thing.)

They were used wen my grand father restored model T cars and classics..
great for metal fabrication.

so use force safety brains and determination.

it is not hard to do just get to it.

make the wood molds soke  in water to swell it and strengthened  it. If you do study you will find that soildrs that used wood shealds put them in water to give strength. then wrap in duck tape to hold it to gather very tighly and thick. cheaper then leather. you could do is make a leather pillow filled with paper lots of paper . used to shape.

note the top and bottom angles are the sam.indents were the trigers ans power are. one mold for all four indents one for the top  and one for the botton curve then one for the left and rith side..

to get the metal to bend at the triger and power cut two cuts on both side wide because it will shrink or bend  then cut the crease.or to make it stronger and to protect the trigers do the top trim sold across hidding the trigers and fold metal back to the back side. to finish it.

Oh a little not the top tabs will need to be longer then the botton to go the depth of the top and go don the back make very long you can cut to size after all bent.
it will not effect you playing your fingers push the back side of the trigers most of the time and donrt touch the front..
battery cover is the easy est to do umd dore harder tight curves. screw driver tip to shape the metal around .
well good luck have fun doing it need help just ask.

Dude, Get Social Services on their ass, If your mum went all the way to smashing both your Xbox's then I think she'll find some way to smash your new PSP too, even if it is in a bulletproof Safe. Or you could ask you Mum to have a talk about what she's doing

I'm being serious, you need to call a Social Service officer or talk to your school consoler! This isn't just some thing you can brush off, your parents have sever anger issues. You're not going to however, because you just don't have the guts/scared. At least thats what I'm getting from your posts. Also, it's illegal for your parents to break things that you have bought with your own money or what has been given to you. I know from experience... seriously, if you're not going to tell your school counselor whats been happening, contemplate getting some help if this happens again.

Hmm, i think my dad might be able to do this as he is very good at cutting things to size, heck he made a small trailer for our 3 ATV's just by using materials and welding and cutting, he has no machines that create shapes but he can use grinders and stuff as well as welding to do but it won't come out perfect, though he is very good at it and should be able to do a good job.

so what i was thinking, making a case for the psp, which will be quite easy as the slim doesn't have any lumps on the backplate, the only things that will be left open to keep use are the UMD door, triggers, buttons, analog, homebar buttons, ect...

if you think about it on how this will all come out, think of it like this, your adding armor to the PSP, to hold the damn thing in place would be a problem if the metal shaping isn't exactly the same as this can damage as well when its in there. Or you  if you don't care much about the case anymore, you can just use the best glue out their to add this "armor" to your PSP, look for it at the home depot or any other places that you can think of that sells glue, it's called Gorilla Glue, this is more than likely stronger than crazy glue (has a warning and caution add on the bottle, trust me you don't wanna get this stuff on you as it makes your skin dry and makes it hard to peel of the skin as well), but that is the only way to keep your PSP intact without much $$$$

and about your parents, same thing for me, my parents aren't that bad but can get as agressive s yours, my dad threatened to shatter both my 2 PSP's and my Xbox 360 if i kept playing more than 5 or so hours a day, whatever your parents say u must do, but if it gets out of hand, ur best bet is to live with some of your other family members, or just put up with the sh*t they gave you like i do.

hope it gets better

the only thing left that would be damagable would be the screen, but if u weren't gonna open the PSP would be very easy, but i know u still wuld want that.

so we drill holes for all the

i guess the metal face plate is a little out there but it doesn't really matter because both my slim and phat PSPs are both broken i was trying the LED mod and mest up my slim and my friend droped it and yea well my phat needs new mobo
both are for sale

pm for details

i just bought a 360 and i was thinking of putting it inside the big screen TV cause it's not a flat screen i can open it up and stick the 360 in there and if my mom gets mad at me for playing she'll have to calm down take off the screws from the tv to get to the  xbox or she could smash up the entire TV which im pretty sure she wont

wow..guys i have never been punished for playing too much video games i bought my psp slim (star wars package) the day it came out (didnt even go to school so i could get it before sold out)i bought it with my own money but my dad has never gotten mad at me for playing it too much or smtin like that.but seriously dude you got some crazy parents. no person in there right mind would smash smtin like that.not because its a glorious incredable peice of hardware but just cuz it cost like a easy $200.00-$250.00 and if they bought it for you i cant understand why they would break it.and with all you guys telling him to tell the school pysch that prolly wont work cuz they are not doing anything wrong.(in a leagal sence) all parents have the right to hit there kids with a open hand.(the right to maintain disiplain in the home)they can break all the stuff they want none of witch is illegal.if this even did go to court the judge prolly would not really think of this like you guys do because most adults dont like video games anyway let alone the whole concept of them....but yea i would appreaciate checking out my other post and adding any thoughts you might have.....search:plz help me give me a break..

wow, they smash your stuff and you haven't beat the living  :censored: out of them?!
you a pacifist? cause it doesn't seem like thats working for you too well...

anyway, if you want to (legally) do something about it, set up hidden cameras(WITH AUDIO!) in your house all routed to a central computer that records everything, then when you have at least 3 incidents, call the authorities (apparently social services)

btw you need to have the computer constantly recording new video and deleting video thats over a week or so old and every time there is an incident, remember what time it happened, then save that clip of video elsewhere the next time you can (before it gets deleted by your comp)

its a pretty hard set up, but if you've got about an hour to yourself in the house, you should be able to do it
i did it and its come in quite handy (not for anything like you've gone through though)
