questions about the razor nub
« on: February 15, 2008, 05:49:59 AM »
yes i'm back :P (i dont know if u missed me) but i've been away for 5-7 days, i've been sick and i couldnt get on the pc/psp to go onto acidmods because i was modding my psp and i got sick when it wasnt finished xD
and i was too sick to go onto the pc

in this week i got 2 razor boards(because i'm going to do the dual analog on my psp)
BUT i've got some questions

The guy who i bought the razors from cutted the boards in a perfect circle,..
(around the connections if u know what i mean)

that is some info for the next questions

Am i still able to use the spring because the board is smaller than the analog frontplate itself (i think it cant but there might be a way)

Do i have to use a silver ring if i use the spring?

If i use the silver ring and the rubber bands do i still need to put the black plate from the analog stick on the razor nub

and do i need to cut a hole if i use the spring

(this one is just to make sure) do i need to glue the razor nub to the psp? or how does it stay in place

Thank you for reading and maybe answering my questions :)

Grtz DD

I'm not a expert on Razor 2, but maybe i can help you. :)

- I'm not sure with that, but i think you should be able to use a spring.

- No, you dont have to use a silver ring IF you use a spring.

- When using the silver ring and rubber bands, i dont think you will need the black plate, but i'm not sure.

- I assume with cutting a hole, you meant in the Razor board. If that's the case then you can choose between
drilling a hole in the board or sanding down the little moveable black thing in the analog (where the springs fits to).

- Yes, use hot glue to stick the nub to the psp.

Hope it helps :D

ty guys for the answers :)

1 of the razor boards was a little bit bigger so i had to cut a small dent into it
now it perfectly fits :), i sanded down the part of the nub, then i was able to put it all together and i added the spring
and it looks good ;)

the feeling is alot different then the normal analog but that is normal i think :P

again thanks :)

at risk of sounding stupid... why cant you just use an extra analog stick an the board that comes with it? you could just solder the jumpers to the board on it... couldn't you?
one step at a time, one step at a time.

No, because the analog stick have analog signals and the powerboard is digital,
which is why you need a board that converts analog signals to digitals.
That's why you need a Razor 2 board.

so you would need the analog stick and just switch out the boards?

No, you just need a few parts, so it will be smaller which is neccesary to fit it into the psp.
Look at this tutorial: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=12678.0

well yeah the soldering and such is kinda a gimmi. but i saw an artical that showed how to use a stick from a ps1 or ps2 as an analog stick for the psp. by braking the connections at key spots on the board in side the analog stick. just like the board in the razors.
