« on: February 26, 2008, 01:32:35 PM »
What is the minimum amount of 360 parts do I need to get a 360 to run? I have a project I want to do, but I need to know this before I start.

yes, without the disc drive or any other parts, it will not do anything but turn the power light on and blink

You need to be more specific because surely everything is essential in order to play right  correct me if im wrong btu surely there wouldnt be unneccesary parts as it would only cost microsoft more =P

You need anything electronic seeing as the 360 knows if something is not connected. I suggest buying a 3 red lights 360 and fixing it. You can sometimes get them quite cheep, and no you dont use the towel trick to fix it. Its more in depth... i'm still trying to get my friend to post the tut for it cause he bought one and fixed it 4 months ago and its still working

Ok, sorry for not being more specific. I have some fans I can use. I have a case I want to use. So I wanted to know if there is really any parts that aren't nessisary that I could go without (Ex. Harddrive). I know I need a mobo and disk drive, but what else do I need?

ok, the HD is not needed, but is nice to have if you are actually going to be gaming with it...
things you definately need...
1. Motherboard
2. Ring of light main board, with the ROL and power switch on it
3. Disc drive
4. this is iffy, it depends on how good your cooling is going to be. If I took my 360 now, and removed the cooling tunnel and put it back together, I would probably get the ROD because for some reason it gets rid of alot, and I mean alot of head, so if you have a good cooling system and alot of fans for it then you'd probably be good. I would still use the 360 fans because they have a special plug and if removed, would probably cause the 360 to not work, error lights... So you will probably need 360 fan and cooling tunnel
