yeah if you have a firmware over im pretty sure 3.52 then yes you will need to do the pandora battery and pry/cut the pin off
just remember that if you do cut that pin completely off then that battery can never be used as a normal battery again, seeing as you modified it...
so make sure you have easy access to a extra battery if you want to do more then just put the CFW on and not be able to use it

settings>system settings>system information>system software
that is your current firmware

XMB is your home/main screen
never heard of XMD
its like a mix of UMD/XMB

and by not starting up right-
did you already cut the pin on the battery or no?
cuz if you did then it wont cuz you modded the battery to go into recovery mode and not be able to start right

yeah, why im asking about what firmware is to find otu if you have to do the whole pandora battery step or not...cuz if its low enough, you can just downgrade to 1.5 then up to m33, but if its too high then pandora is needed

the battery thing- cut one of the pins off the EEPROM (read one of the tuts for more help)
pandora files- also look at the tutorials for the right files

XMB- main screen/ home screen on psp (game, video, music, etc. all on this screen)
CFW- Custom FirmWare

to get despertar del cementerio, just like search it in google, or look through the tuts posted here and you might get lucky by finding one that has it
