what causes TA-86 PSP's UMD drives to stop reading UMD's

I have now seen three PSP's stop reading UMD's.  Why!!!!!!!!

2 where hacked and then they stopped and one was original Sony FW and just stopped one day.

    The only well known problem the umd is not reading the disk, is the umd unit itself. Keep in mind, that the laser lens is known to naturally lose its effectiveness after high level of usage. Just like the laser lens on a ps2 unit, the same thing applies. Your only solution to this, is to replace the umd unit with a new one. I know from experience. Get a new one, problem solved.

this happend to my mates psp when i m33ified it :cry2: i feel so bad. Luckly he doesnt need the UMD cas i just put his UMD's on his mem stick for easy playing. :dribble:
