Alternate Mic?
« on: March 11, 2008, 08:52:21 AM »
I just got a MOTORAZR V3M a week or two ago and I was just now going through some of the parts that came with it. I noticed that the phone didn't have a headset port for it, but it did include this weird cord....

So I looked it over and noticed that the fat side had the spot for the headset...

But what's interesting is the other side. It's a USB plug that fits into the PSP...

So my question is, if I buy a headset, could I use it as a PSP Mic (Going through the RAZR-converter-thing)?

im not sure it will work because the psp can only get mike input through the little square serial thing by the headphone plug. And unfortuantly yours go's thro the USB so it wont work. Just get a remote then buy/make a head set.

if the hardware fits you just need the software to run it

I know people use the Talkman mic in SOCOM, so how is there really a difference?

ghost I believe you are mistaken, mic input can come from the usb port

Pin 1 +5V Red
Pin 2 -Data White
Pin 3 +Data Green
Pin 4 key (not connected)
Pin 5 GND Black

I believe pin 2&3 would be a hookup for the mic

and yes the talkman&chotto mics work for socom, killzone etc.

the question is the pinout for your mic connector, if it matches the psp

and determining how the psp determines a talkman/chotto is connected
