Analog stick washer

Is the washer necessary? the one that came with my new analog unit has a weird bottom that causes a lot of friction and screws up the movement in games, is it alright to take it out?

It's that really thin one between the plate and the top of the unit, so you don't see down into the psp. It's hard to describe how mine is, the top of it is smooth/black and the bottom has got some weird white coating on it, and cause of that the stick movement is quite sketchy. I was thinking of just maybe flipping it so the you'd see the white side under the stick cap but it would still be messed up probably.

Yeah I know, cause it's cheap made in china replacement part.

I think you could make one with a bit of thin plastic, that thing is just really there so things doesn't go in it the unit and jam it

yeah u can do wat ra1n said or i think you can find on at a hardware store maybe,..they got plastic stuff so check it out but im not positive but i have seen stuff there,..

its probaly not vital to have but i would do what Ra1n said and make one from some plastic

  I fixed it! The problem had to do with the inner workings of the analog unit. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts that touch the little bit of pcb or whatever it is with some rubbing alcohol on a q tip, works like a charm not and it's smooth as butter! I think i'm gonna try a different grease inside there, probably lithium or something light.
