I have completed my PS1P , done for my GCSE product design. The project itself is pretty ghetto in some respects , with a electrical tape trim and excessive hot glue, but regardless of that it is done for my tuesday deadline and i'm glad to see the back of it. Here are some pics:Front:Base side and thickness indicator (Picture doesn't do the tape trim justice):Back , with a nice black PSX disk drive:Top , with the ports and more tape:Unfortunately time didn't permit analog controls , I had enough trouble with them as it is without the dualshock. Also , there is no battery , which again seeing as I was doing this to deadline , had already blown most of the fuses and have limited knowledge of the subject decided not to add. The small hole above the screen is where I intend to stick the PS logo. The screen is badly LED modded , as I broke the backlight yesterday and had to do it , using the wrong resistor. However , when I get it back after it is marked I will rectify this problem. All that matters is that you can see the picture and you can so it's all good. After all this , i'm glad to see the back of it , it has been way more trouble than it's worth but the satisfaction of completing it somewhat makes up for it. Perhaps next time I do a project i'll make a DVD cupboard like the rest of the class. Bai .
Yeah. It looks like you can really make a sucess out of it . If anything, I was wondering how you were able to split the buttons that far. Did you have to cut the board up or use different contacts? Anyway I'd love to hear on the progress of your project, I've been making plans for a ps2 slim portable that will have everything for one player and the ports for 4 .
Looks sweet! How much time do you have into this?
I'm planning on doing this mod but never planned on an internal controller, as I predicted that it would be a pain in the arse, and according to your quote, I'm right XD. Oh one last thing, do you think that you can point out where in the ps1 are the video and audio points? I'm going to use a brick ps1 for now but might think on usnig the slim ps1, just need to find one >L<

are you the guy with the duck avatar from benheck?
We've had a good couple of months into it , but most of that was for written coursework. The only thing I did in school was the case , and in the final week or so convinced my teacher to let me take it home so I could wire the menace. On the PS1 itself there are 3 pins on the underside of the AV out connector. This is in the benheck book, in much greater detail than this picture.I am indeed.
Hmm, would you know about dvd screen pinouts?
you like to tape everything together?...loli liek it but do something about the case...looks a bit sloppy
Make a custom case for that thing and hook up the analogue controls then it will look AWESOME!
that looks poorly executed
Yes, The back needs some work done on it, The front looks great though. They free spinning disk looks like a killing device
