absoloutly not just void of warranty no legal action can be taken apon a person for moding their own system.

nothing is ilegal unless you get caught. If you dont get caught then it is not ilegal.

i get what your saying but i'm worried cuz is in't the psp system like a copyright thing and if you resell it i would be like selling someones invention and theres laws for there isn't there??

selling a moded psp is not illegal either as long as you sell it as modified psp not a new invention the lookkool gameing device.if you claim you invented it and mass produced them then its ilegal but purchaceing a system changing it and reselling is not illegal

i warn you just because it isnt illegal dosnt mean sony cant

at e bay till they pull it if you mention cfw they def will pull it. sony is a huge company and basicly get what they want cfw itselfe isnt ilegal because its just software that was created for psp but was homemade no liscense to it,its share ware and allows ppl to play downloaded games witch sony dosent like so if ppl try to spread that software i.e sell a cfw psp on ebay sony can

till they pull it so point is just because it is not illegal dosent mean sony cant use their billions of dollars to make another company "ebay" follow their RULES NOT LAWS of not selling cfw psp

I am spanish, and there was a judgment a few weeks ago, between a shop and sony, ubisoft and proein. The shop sells consoles with chips already installed. The shop "chipspain" won the judgment because the judge considered that those chips allowed to use the consoles for more apps they were made for and NOT necessarily with the purpose of piracy.

in some countrys modding a console with a chip that is used to bypass DRM is illegal and therfore selling it is illegal but if all you are doing to the psp is LED's, Dual nub etc then that is perfectly legal as long as when you sell it you inform the buyer that its warrenty is voided, and selling it with CFW is illegal as that allows the user to bypass DRM on the games.
CFW = Illegal
ModChips that bypass firmware or DRM = Illegal
LED's & Dual Nubs etc = Legal

CFW = Illegal
ModChips = Illegal

yes only a few countries have laws against modchips. i beleive malaysia is one of them (off the top of my head). There is a whole wikipedia article on videogame censorship, so if you want to know if modchips are illegal in your country that might be a place to look

actually selling modded consoles may be illegal, it depends on how you do it.
if you do it for a friend, it isnt something to worry about. if you do it on a big scale without taking taxes for it, then your in trouble with the IRS.

Yes,I think that they are not illegal aslong as you make an u know what of YOUR OWN games,just like it applies to DVDs,Music,Console Games and other sold media.

And about the hard moded PSP's,i go with the majority.as far as you tell the buyer the guaranty is void theres nothing illegal about it.
