Quick PSP mobo Question
« on: April 05, 2008, 11:31:42 AM »
Just a quick motherboard question by a newb: is there a specific name for the motherboard that connects the screen and backlight to the rest of the PSP? Also, what is the approximate price for these?

Sorry if this has been asked before or if I'm in the wrong section...

ummm.. that is just the mother board. it is one whole assembly. the part with the X[]/\ and O buttons is usually called the power board, and the memstick part and wifi part is the daughterboard, but is refered to as the memstick board or wifi board.
the motherboard costs anywhere from 20-50 dollars if you look in the auction sections.

did you break one of those things my friend if so you need to get a new mobo. I've spent more then enough time to afford a new psp for how much time I've spent trying to fix mine maybe one last attempt tommorow but I've soldered the connector back and still nothing. if nothings broken and you just wanna know what it is it's just the motherboard the whole thing. The bigger clip is used for data to go onto the screen. The smaller is for the backlight.

Ken i wouldnt have done it any other way

Yeah, the backlight clip is broken, that's why I wanted to be specific on what that particular board was called (to buy a new one).

It's interesting that you brought soldering up; I'm going to try soldering tomorrow. Good luck to us both I guess
