Need Firmware Help Please

For the first year or so after the PSP came out in Japan I was very up to date with every single type of hombrew/hack/fireware mod that there was. Then that damn thing called life pulled me away from one of my fun hobbies  and now I want to get back into it.

The last thing I did with my PSP was put the custom fireware 3.02 OE-B on it. Now it has been a very long time since I have done anything like this and I have been out of the game for a while so can someone please get me up to speed with the PSP firmware scene and give me a step by step guide to get my PSP from the firmware it has now to the best custom firmware currently out?

On a side note once I get the software all taken care of I am going to mod my PSP. I have seen the work some of you people have done on this site and it is truly amazing. If any of you have a guide to help a beginner in the PSP modding scene that would also be very helpful.

firstly you should get to the latest firmware go like this

3.40 ea-> 3.52 m33 -> 3.52m33-4 -> 3.90 m33 ->3.90 m33-3

Ok I did all of this already. Now when I go to use some of my old homebrew stuff it does not work anymore. Like my Daedalus N64 Emu works great but my Infrared Remote does not work anymore. Anyone got a answer to that? Also what is this new 1.50 Kernel Add on for 3.90 m33 for? Thanks for any help with this.

you need a dycryped sirc.prx from a dump of ur old setup and put in systems folder of 3.9 and some homebrew just dosent work on 3.9 if ur launching in ir shell ir shell isnt 100% compatible with 3.9
