Problems with computer

well my little brother tried to install a theme on our vista, and now its  :censored: bad

we turn it on and like we try to log on to a account and it goes uxtheme.dll or something missing,

try to fix, we tryed and it comes up with the same menu

how do i fix this

Insert your OS install disk and hit repair computer, and choose the partition it's on. If anything's missing or corrupt it will fix it. If it can't, it will do a system restore back to before it got screwed up.

Yeah just put it in your computer and boot into it and hit repair, it will do all the work for ya

thing is i dont have the disc, my computer came with installed

well, you try to do a system restore if you have a restore point....also when ever you buy a comp...always make a backup disk.

I think I know how to fix this. i installed a theme on my vista but I had to do the uxtheme patch. First I need to know if you're using SP1. I'll provide you with the uxtheme.dll and the other .dlls to do this patch.

same here, in fact, it was yesterday for me

i was stuck with windows classic look, so i figured out how to do this, swapped them out manually, and now i am using custom themes and the originals :D

He can't log in...

Luke, if you can't log in like you said, go download a Live CD of Linux, any kind, and burn that. Boot into it and then download the unpatche uxtheme.dll and put it on your harddrive in the right folder for Vista.
