broken motherboards

has anyone broken off any pieces of the mother board but it still works?
i broke off the tiny tab holdin the lcd power cable so i stuck the ribbon back in and applyied a little tape...........good as new

yup, that happens alot to connectors. if it stops working its ususally just because the cable has come loose.
