button idea??
« on: April 29, 2008, 07:38:01 AM »
whats up i want to do the d pad led mod but i want 4 leds in it,is it pssible to use a dremmel and make 2 grooves in the back of button it self that are wide enough to put wire in to go around the inside of the button and drill the spots for the leds and after it is all put in the button, put hot glue on the back and squeegie it flat again.but i was wondering if someone has tried this yet or has some extra buttons they would try it on?

wow

please explain better

and yes it is possible to put 4 leds in the d-pad
just drill in all the buttons a hole where you put the led in ;)

i mean make a channel in the button that makes it so you dont have a bunch of wires all over around the d pad,but just one set of wires goin into the button for all 4 leds, all the other wires are in the back of the button itself, and if you use somethig like hot glue or epoxy to cover and secure the wires and leds in the button you could use just a few strands of uninsulated wire and that would make it so you wouldnt need that big of a channel for the wire to run through.

you would have to drill all the buttons which will look ugly
i drilled in all the buttons once and i think if u drill like 4 holes in them for the wires it will look ugly

kind of agree, the amount of wires you would need will (i think) hinder the d-pads proformance. plus one led would be all you need to light the d-pad up. save yourself the extra work buddie.
