Cutting perspex (video)

Made a short-and-sweet video of how to cut perspex for case making.

Three steps:

* Use a CD marker pen and mark out guidelines to cut against.
* Use a thin drill bit to cut close to line.
* Use sanding bit to trim away until line is straight and smooth.

Nice one.
Seems like I can find perspex at my local stores.
Is it cheap to buy?
Because it seems easy to use and very good as a material.

Yes, quite cheap, I get it off e-bay, costs me including delivery about £2 ($4) a sheet, 210x297mm (A4). A normal case needs 3 sheets (top, bottom and sides, etc). Use some general glue (eg UHU glue) to stick it together and hot glue to give a strong bond.

Nice one! you seem to like multisystems,or this one isn't a multisystem?
Anyway I can't damn buy from ebay unless the seller is in Europe or close to,
because if it's from US shipping is too high.

also if you have a belt sander available to you it will make straighter edges more accurite

or if you have some really nice friends then you can bum there cnc

Aricado - This one is a multisystem, abandoned last one as I was getting a lot of cross-talk and interference on the wiring, also the two case halves didn't stay together securely. This is MK2 (and hopefully final!). No-one else seems to have tried such an interchangeable system before, even on BenHeck; so my project is unique.

TimmyDX - I prefer the "gently does it" approach. I get the sides very straight indeed and smooth, as I finish with straight sanding. I also have steady hands and am able to cut in straight lines. I don't have access to a CNC machine, anyway, a lot of the casing has to be made my hand anyway.

I'll try to get my hands on perspex.I also have steady hands when it comes to cutting,sanding,painting.
I was making an actuall size guitar controller made of wood,almost had the body finished but I abandoned it
because I didn't have time and I had to clean my workplace so I threw it away.Anyway I'll try perspex when I
get the chance.
