PSP internal accessories ideas
« on: May 25, 2008, 07:34:11 PM »
I was just sitting here looking at my psp and then i thought of somthing, why has nobody used the battery compartment for internal accessories instead of taking out the umd drive?
i realize that this means that you would have to use an external power source but it would give you plenty of space to work with. also if you didnt use wifi, couldent you take out the wifi board and have space to use too? anyway im new to the psp modding scene. about the only one ive done is the usb charge mod for the fat psp. my psp is not homebrew enabled either.
the only device that ive hacked the firmware of is the ipod touch.
but if you have any ideas please post. thanks.

You wouldn't want to take out the wifi board board because you need to use your memory stick.

Or you could cut the board in half and solder a memory stick slot and scratch off a bit of the track on the top of the WiFi board and solder to their corresponding point

yeah maybe that could  be done and then you would have extra room 4 mods but wont have wifi

I wouldn't count on what I said because there are several layers and you might wreak something. Just a thought though

Sounds like alot of work for gaining a small amount of space. (Not sure if this is true, but) could you use a slim battery in a fat? i know it prob wouldn't last long but the amount of space that you could get out of this would be great for adding a number of mods.

Thats a shame, would have giving a modder alot of space to work with. :(

Think out side the box, use an alternate power source, Hook it up to the battery's PCB and you got your self some room You've just got to find a small battery that has enough power
