Any need for drilling into razor X?
« on: May 29, 2008, 11:25:56 PM »

I ordered this nub+razorX combo from coolmods.
http://www.coolmods.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?currency=USD&cPath=23_41&products_id=198
I know the points that I'm supposed to solder to on the ABXY board. Though I'm not sure about the points for the razorX. My psp is phat (PSP-1001).

Also, I know USB charge mod is required for slim psp if your doing duel nub. But is this required for the phat?
Please help. :beg:

Ok so no drilling but do I solder to these points (1) or these (2)?

I'm assuming that the second point from the left is ground, or is it the one in the middle?

Real nice pic for the ABXY board man.

the one that comes out the middle is the ground, and the rest is the direction that you want it to go.  EX: if you solder the bottom one to the x when you press down on the analog it will be the same thing as pressing x

Thanks for clearing up that question for me dslitemodder.
One last question guys, is it absolutely necessary to do the USB charge mod (in my case)?
For sure on slim but also for phat?

you need to take out the yellow charge thing in order to fit the razor in the psp so unless you have an external battery charger (or another psp) you need to do the usb charge mod. (I would recommend it just because it's just a good idea)

Cool man, thanks again.
Going to do the mod now, I'll post back with results.

Edit: Had a total of three mods I was doing. USB charge, hold activated trigger led's, duel nub (razor X). The first two worked perfectly, the last not so. I got everything soldered in correctly, but when I test it out nothing happens. Tried in the XMB and a game (god of war) but still nothing.

Soldering points have been tinned (except grnd). Then I soldered those points onto section 2 of my pic above (of razor x board).

Are you talking about the O button? Cause I saw edhels guide and it showed that trace as being good. Then again it was a guide for the razor 2...

I can further verify that because I have used the information from it my self, why would it be wrong?
