abroading with sandpaper - an alternative to jewels

Hi,

I just wanted to share my idea: You can abroad cases with sandpaper instead of making/let make jewels. It's way cheaper and it looks great, too!
First get a adhesive foil (this thing you use to bind a book). Then get a sujet, it should be pretty simple  (you need to cut out the sujet). Then print it out, trace it to the adhesive foil (or print it on the foil), adhere it to your console, and simply abroade the parts you need with sandpaper.

Good idea but the Jewels have a better finish but still a good alternitive

not a bad idea at all man....as an alternative

it'll never quite be jewel standard....but no one ever orders the ds jewel etches anyway lol

its more about depth then precision

and what if someone wants a really complex design

and the final question is : how well does it catch led light?

Should catch light well, it is just translucent, so light will pass through it well

nice, something that shouldnt cost a lot and looks great. i like the ubuntu logo too. im running ubuntu at the moment. but how much did this set you back?

Not yet, I'll do it in the holydays (together with a PulseVU and a GBAccelerator DS, this will get a big thing) when I've got time.
