There should be a PS3 sixaxis SPITFIRE!
« on: June 03, 2008, 05:41:54 PM »
The spitfire controller uses a microcontroller programed by its codes, this can also be done on ps3 although i do know the sixaxis has a different circuit mode to xbox controllers.

Can this be done?

Who with me?

You can adapt the PIC for any controller, that's what's so good about PIC's

Will the xbox parts work for the ps3.

e.g

1: 30 awg Kynar Wire
2: Solder, soldering iron and paste
3: Dremel with cut off wheel
4: Hot Glue Gun and Glue
5: 18 pin Socket
6: 2 X 22pf Capacitors
7: 4 MHz crystal
8: .1uf Capacitor
9: 2 momentary Buttons
10: 1 momentary Buttons
11: Proto PCB from RadioShack
12: 1 X 3mm or 5mm LED
13: 3 X 10K ohm resistors
14: 1 X 4.7K ohm resistor
15: Torx #9 Security Bit
16: PIC16F84A

If you built it up?

And will the diagram be the same?

i dont think is should be, it would kill the exclusiveness of it being on 360, but its would be pretty cool anyhow

You don't think it is a good idea?, I just don't think it will blend well with the PS3 controller

I really want one. but not for multiplayer (well maybe in a privite match with a few friends, keep them thinking for awhile) more single player missions. you know what it's like when you wanna get past a difficult part of a level too get to the good stuff. this would help. well that my excuse anyway, lol!

can a 555 timer be used in the sixaxis, as it can similarly to the xbox 360 controller?

Rapid Fire and Spitfire are 2 different things.

what's the difference?

I do know the sixaxis circuit is completly different.
e.g ground clearance, positives and negative, there are more on the sixaxis than xbox.
xbox controllers is just a standard joypad, that lets you do whats on screen, the sixaxis has multiple functions, so its hard to get around it.

well all you really need from the sixaxis is power, ground and trigger when using 555 timer, just like the xbox controller i assume,  and all of which i have a pic of their postioning

A 555timer does not work on a sixaxis controller because its functions are different.
It will work on xbox controllers because there controllers are so standard.

There is a way off using 555timers in a sixaxis though i know that,
im trying hard to figure it out. You can do anything with NE555p chips.
im in the process of using a 100K ohm potentiometer and a logic switch so you can change the pulse speed.
