Im pretty sure this is fraud or some kind of blackmail

I bought a domain name, it was only £1 for the year, and there were no hidden charges, now its been 5 months, and they have had a new re design on the site and they have a whole new system, and since they charge £9 for domains per year now, they are forcing me to pay an extra £8,

And i read the terms and conditions when i origanally bought the domain

Well, companies are allowed to change their T&C without notice, and by using their service you agree that you accept the T&C and understand that they may be changed without notice...making it legal.

in the uk that would be illegal as you have netered a contract and agreed to pay that fee. i would threaten to take them to the small claims court or something but first say to them that you believ they are breaking the law then upon response (depending on what it is) phone up the uks consumer help line
