Help with first mods!
« on: July 03, 2008, 04:02:00 PM »
I finally got out the one striped screw out of my PSP and I need some help moding. The 2 mods I want to start out with are the USB Charge mod and the Trigger mod. I have everything I need, but I need some help doing the mods (Mostly just where I need to solder). For the Trigger mod, I want to bridge the wifi's switch and use the switch for my LEDs.

on power board scratch away a small portion of the insuation on the places and solder your wires here with a 10 ohm resistor

I knoticed how you said that you needed help with the solderig part of your mods. I'm afraid I can't be of much help with soldering, but I did post a tutorial on how to do the USB charge mod completely solder-free. If you want to see it, follow this link: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=19945.0 Let me know if you use it and if it helps. As far as I know your stuck soldering on the led mod. You'll need to enlist someone else's help for that. But I know for a fact you can do the USB charge without solder because I did it.

I'm ok at soldering, I just don't know the points where I need to solder to. Thanks for the link.

I have a different power board than that.

Should still be the same in regards to the solder points. I was under the impression that you could solder the wifi switch, not everyone wants to lose the hold function. I imagin it is similer to how you would solder the Slim wifi.

Does anyone have a pic of the wifi swich connection on the mobo?

The leg on the wifi switch is ground you would need to get a + some where else in the psp :)

And ya its the same way you do it on the slim..

But if you use that +5V doesnt that make your LEDS sound reactive? If so, where is another +5V close to the wifi?

no if you use that 5 volt point it will burn lur 3.7 volt leds really fast but if you solder to the points to the left of the conector the top is negitive and bottom is positive im pretty shue then they will be sound reactive

Either way works fine but its easier i think to solder on the pad that you scratch off.
