is this 8 pin one - http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=27676&doy=6m7 basically the same use as this one - http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2530&&source=14&doy=6m7
so basically can i use the first one the same way the second one can be used, does it do the same thing?

btw dont really know where else to post this

Yes they are the same,can be used the same way for the same job.
The 1st sockets are better in my opinion,the pins are stronger and tighter when plugged in.
the 2nd one is loose and pins break easier.
I use the 1st ones for *ahem* installation in wii's
