Xbox Fan Repair
« on: July 08, 2008, 07:31:26 PM »
the cord to the power plug on the mobo has broken, so could i solder the wire directly on to the motherboard? or do i have to cut away part of the plastic and reconnect the wire?

Will the first method work? or will it short out the motherboard? I don't particularly care about this xbox, as I have 4 other ones, I just want it to work, as it overheats with no fan.

i would try to fix the wire instead of soldering to the mobo, but if you make a good connection and are carefull to make sure your not shorting out i dont see why soldering to the mobo wouldnt work, but i am new to xbox so i could be wrong
