Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good soldering iron. I need a new one but don't want a  one.

I have absolutely no clue.

Any help appreciated

Yup if your in the USA the best place is Radioshack to me
A great quality 15 watt iron for 9$ is unbeatable

hello and welcome to acidmods

for modding purposes i would recommend you a 15w-20w soldering iron it works the best..... and i use this 1 here its switchable between 15w and 30w....  get the 1 that you feel like but remember it has to be between 15w to 20w, and if u are more experienced u can use higher powered ones too....

Same here a 15-20 watt would do. Plus mine can be lowered or higher to what ever heat is best for me.

Hello Fayt_Chanya! welcome! If there is a maplins where you live in Wales, go there. i got a 15-20w soldering iron for £15 and works really well, plus you can get different sized tips for the more intricate work. if there isn't one in your town, go to your local Focus store.

DAM! That second one is awesome, Its got helping hands and a stand and a sponge all built in!! I want one lol

yea nice my solder iron is like the second except it doesnt have the clamps witch would be really help to have..

My local Focus has just shut down xD, would've had 90% off if I had known.

I'll definetely look into it as my college wont loan me theirs. I'm gonna try the triggermod, i know my way  around a circuitboard due to electonics and i'll install a camy faceplate. I'll post pictures when its done. After my holidays ^^
