Yes if i was doing this circuit i would wire it in parallel, i have edited your image a bit to show how i would go about doing it:[img=http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/1874/myvfy0.th.jpg]the resistor for the Red led should be a 155ohms 1/8 watt resistor. (on the image the yellow things are resistors.)The resistor for the blue led should be a 90 ohm 1/8 watt resistorSorry about the poor quality image, but it just about gets across how i would wire it.
Those two resistances are calculated to the exact requirements of the leds in question, and the power source you plan to be using.Also 10 ohm is too little resistance for 5 v and two leds with differing voltage requirements, the leds would either blow, or would have a shortened life.
Thanks for the advice But as i'm sure you know red and blue leds have different voltage requirements.Surface Mount Red leds have a forward voltage of 1.9v with a max of 2.3vandSurface Mount Blue leds have a forward voltage of 3.2 v with a max of 3.8vSo you would need a different value resistor on each branch of the parallel circuit to ensure that you don't blow either of the leds.Both of those resistance values i calculated are perfect for the voltage requirements of each led.Hope this helpsAlso if i was planning on using one resistor you could place on either side of the circuit before the branches, it doesn't necessarily have to be on the 5v side
I have a question.. Why the are you using the 5 volt when you can use the 3.6v on the powerboard. You wouldnt need as much resistance and it would be easier to solder.
