Macbook Pro.

Seriously, you wanna go into Video Editing at college, and think they'll be runnin windowze? Well, also you can install XP or Vista on it. It will play Crisis at medium settings, and is 1" Thick.

try medium, high, and very high.. with a  custom atuoconfig (so objects quality is low, but i still get ammo rejects and object decals like bullet holes)

srsly, macbook pro is a great option

$2K budget + potential for video editing + potential for playing hardcore games + needs to be a laptop?

Definitely Macbook Pro. Sure you might be able to customize a Dell for a bit less but then you lose the video editing capability. You could buy a pure gaming rig from alienware or voodoo and get (imo) some better cosmetic looks, but again you lose on the video editing. The regular Macbook doesn't have enough oomph to get you anywhere and the macbook air is a waste of cash.
