um, ok if you want to take out the original speakers and put in ur own then yea ok fine just solder it to the connections.
If  you want to put in ur own speakers AND keep the original speakers then you will need a LM386 so that you can draw more power to the speakers. If you dont have the LM386 then your speakers will make the same amount of volume as originally without the extra speakers.

And if you take out ur umd drive you still can play iso/cso since your using ur memory card.

Hope you can understand it.

Just cut the wires to the original speakers and solder to them and extend them into the umd drive and solder your new speakers to the positive and negative black will be negative and grey is positive you can even unplug them to solder on them so you don't have to put a soldering iron any where near anything that's connected to the psp

remember tho, this will be a mono speaker so if you wanted stereo you would have to add another speaker or keep one of original ones. Hope it goes well!

hmm im not too sure about that if he has only 1 big speaker he plans to use then i think he can bridge them for more power you should try that i see no reason why it wont work

No it woulnt be funny :sadno: note numbeoneshotter i have crossed the connections to the speakers the sound will be disabled untill you take the battery out of the psp and but it back in and restart the psp so if by accident this happens don't freak out just try turning it off and on and it will be fine ive done that many times myself but i have never tried bridging positives and negatives of both speakers to power a bigger speaker but im interested to see if it works so plz kepp us posted with your results

Folklord's info is correct. remove the original psp speakers (you can either unplug them or cut them from the wire. so you can solder the wire from your larger speaker to that rather than the mobo). Thats it. make sure the wire is not shorting anywhere and you will be fine. like i say before it will be mono, not stereo. you might be able to cross wire the two old speaker connections to get a simulater stereo sound but i've never done that and might cause problems. so for now just wire the speaker to one of the psp speaker ports.

later you could try and find some smaller yet more powerfull speakers so you can have true stereo. i've been told that a set from a sony erricsson speaker set are beeter as you can have both where the umd drive would be. hope that makes sense and feel free to ask more questions.

there under the lcd and the metal frame that hold the screen inplace. It will be very clear where they are when you have removed those parts. i'd recommend studying the tut on taking apart a psp in the tutorial section at Acidmods. helped me alot when i first started.

to take the homebar off, just use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off from the left side.

i could be completly wrong but i was under the impression you cant bridge two channels of the same wattage  and increase the wattage just the amps and if the watts dont go up the volume dont increase, i think it also changes the ohm rating,if you hook up left and right channels to the same single coil speaker there is some music that can cause the speaker to tear or blow because the left and right channels conflict(there is a nine inch nails cd that warns you not to listen to it on a mono system or it can cause damage to your speakers)but if you can find a duel coil speaker it should work great..but like i said i could be completly wrong

take the screws in the battery compartment out and all the screwes under the lcd on metal case then open the umd door and wiggle the metal caseing out you have to open the umd door to take the metal caseing off then on the botom of psp will be your speakers plugged into mobo now to put speakers in the umd drive space you will have to take the umd drive out so you have to keep removeing all the screws until no electronics remain then remove the umd door and fab ur speakers onto it then put it all back together. look for tut on how to disassemble the psp they are everywhere

plus if you got your umd drive out that means you unplugged the speakers soo you had to literaly touch the wires to them and we described where they were so how can you not know where they are you allready unplugged them?
