Need some advice

I'm a little new to this stuff and thought you guys would know more than me- Well I was thinking about the rapidfire no chip method, and was wondering if I could do the same thing but make it rapid Y button. If I used the old style controller, one wire would go to the player 1 LED, but where would the other one go to?

you cant use the face buttons as rapid fire ,,,, cuz thay are on there own pause circuit and need 2 leeds to activate not one like the "trigger" sorry. you can use a micro controller (pic) to do this tho if you want i can make one and post it....

Darn. How complicated would it be? And you don't have to make one if it'll cost much.
