PS3 CFW play game backups?

I am interested in buying a ps3 and my uncle has given me some of his games which are in bad condition. i was wandering if i could get the game backups somehow to play on a ps3. like you can "chip" a ps2, but can i just use a ps3 like a psp custom firmware and play the game backups on a new disk? idk

I dont know? i said i havent even got a ps3? i was wandering if it could, its a question. Obviously not going to get answared so i wont bother. i shall get a wii or xbox instead.

The answer is no, but unless the game has real deep scratches, it should still play fine.

Ok, thats what i wanted to know. also now i know it is illegal to have my game backups somehow then i wont need to do that. Im not sure if the disks will work though because the scratches are pretty deep. i got the games free anyway from my uncle so im not bothered.

in the uk it is not illegal to make backups of your disks for personal use i.e. you have a bugger of a kid who scratches and chews your games so you keep the origional safe and use the backups incase he wants to chew them

unlocked as me and a few admins as well as the site owner have discussed the whole issue regarding backups etc and have decided that we will allow the discussion of backups etc but not the sites that you get the ilegally downloaded file from as it will be purely for personal backups that we will allow the discussion.

some game shops have got a disc renewer thing it restores the disk back to almost new condition 50p per disc £1 per bluray & hd dvd its all good  play away

In the USA is is quite legal to own 1 backup of your software (game, program, etc.) as long as you make it yourself from your original disc (can't download) and you do not circumvent, alter, or remove any security. It's clearly stated in the DMCA.

There's no reason people should make game backups unless you are likely to break it or have it subjected to extreme damage. Even then the hard coating on the bottom of Blu-Rays keeps them going after being harassed by wire wool.
