i saw that people have been changing their speakers on their psp

i want to use a clock radio speaker instead of those little speakers that come with it

i want to know how i would go about connecting the new speaker to psp [ connections, soldering points,parts needed ]

Solder Points on The PSP Speaker

Just solder wires from the back of the PSP Speaker and TO the back of the added speaker and voila.

And you need to take out the UMD Drive.

I'm no expert, but I think you'll get better results if you use the LM 386.

For me the LM386 made it sound like crap at low volumes. Even with a cap in series and across the gain

Why do people always hate on the direct way. It is so much easier and i think you get better results.

Personally I like the lm386. If you wire it up correct , you will get excelent results. I wired one up to drive two speakers and an led with a singlle amp. It runs off of 6 volts currently. It sounds excelent and goes so loud that the speakers I have bug out. I need to get some better ones. I also have a 10v 100ohm cap on the + of each speaker and none across the gain. Also I used no resistors on the audio input either. The only resistor is to the led so that it dosent burn out.

so if i were 2 use 2 speakers, i wouldnt have to do anythin special right? jus solder d other wires to the other speakers

I don't get why most people use lm386's at all,if you connect the + left speaker connecor to the + of the right speaker connector then to the + of your new speaker,then do the same with the negative,this halves the resistance across the circuit making it twice as loud without an lm386,You'd want to add some diodes in there for safety but other than that it works perfectly in theory,if i had a psp with working sound I could try this but I don't

Not hatin, just saying I think using a LM386 would sound better, but that would also depend on the speaker possibly. And no offense, but I'd listen to Alien_X over most anyone around here. If he says LM386, I'd at least try it first...

well if you wanted it to be hidden, you could put it below the wifi board. But since you have to remove the umd drive anyway, I'd say to stick it in there.

only one of my speakers are working so i think its a power problem

LM386 it not usefull>.> just burn the battery faster
faster and better is direct connection =)
LM386 + cap draw current from speaker and 5v their for killing the battery faster and without a proper cap the sound is horrible =)

i pulled those out of an intec speaker system i got at walmart

they sound clear and no distortion

i thought it was gunna sound bad because i only paid $15 for them,well price doesnt mean anything

for some reason when ever the speakers touch each other or a metal, they stop working and i have to turn off the psp and turn it back on

how can i stop this?

you are plain stupid

yes you can stop it,just make sure they don't touch each other or other metals!they disrupt the speakers magnetic field and mess up the sound

that's the hard part becuz when 1 of the speakers touch the back of psp 1 speaker doesnt work becuz of that metal

plus i gotta cut something to cover the back and make wholes for the speakers, i was tihnking of using a umd case...wat do u guys think?
