For about a year I have been modding gameboys, so far i have killed about 7 of them. After the long accidental killing of the poor old things I think i have found the gameboy I am going to mod constantly and hopefully not fry the circuit board. Ok Now to talk about the mod
The gameboy usually runs at 4 somtin mhz, So I took a crystal oscillator out of an old computer. The oscillator has a speed of 14.1 mhz. That is way over the crashing speed of the gameboy original. When it plays games they are all glitchy and stuff. I figured out if you cool to cpu the games play normal without glitchyness but with about 3x more speed. So i figured why not make an external cooling system!?
Well I did it and it only took about 3 hours, I will upload video later.
It was very simple but yet very hard to perfect( it still isn't perfect at all) It is a fan placed in a box external which runs through a tube and strait to the cpu. I put ice in the box so the fan moves the cold air to the cpu. Very simple but very effective.
But of course there is always more to be done to an old gameboy systems. I would love some ideas
Q: Why mod gameboy original???
They are cheap and easy to mod.
Q: Why do you have so little posts???
Because i move from mod site to mod site and forget my old account and passwords so i had to make a new account. I think im sticking to this site
