« on: November 02, 2008, 06:06:02 AM »
First question :
Can these leds http://www.oznium.com/led (3mm) be used in modding with psp?i chose colors White blue and aqua
Second question :
What resistors i need for use in modding? http://www.oznium.com/resistors any of these would work? and if not could you tell me where to get the one needed? and tell me the ohms for the colors in first question
Third question :
What kind of wire to use? and any other things for soldering?
Fourth question :
Where to get a faceplate, back plate and buttons for cheaper? i could only find 40$ for case and 10$ for button

First off, welcome to Acidmods! Secondly, try using the search button, quite alot of people have already asked these questions and they may answer yours, if you can't find anything just post back. :)

1. You should use smd 0603 LEDs.
2. If you are using the sound chip from acidmods, you don't need resistors. Otherwise, I believe you need a 191kohm and a 30kohm resistor.
3. Use 30 guage kynar wire. You might want some flux, but that's about it.
4. dealextreme.com

Well you can use a specific chip and wire it to the speakers, or you can directly wire the led to the speakers. Direct connection is the easiest.

you get the chip from acidmods.com/shopusa and I'm pretty sure you need to solder through hole. If you buy the lm386 sound chip from radio shack, then yes, theer are little pins to solder to.

Flux helps the solder melt/stick better or something... either way it helps you make better solder joints.

LM386 sound chip
Resistors? yes

Sound board from acidmods
Resistors? no. they are included.

You can hook as many leds to the chip as you want. L.E.D.'s don't use much power. If you are going to install leds in high numbers, they will get dimmer.

I installed 8 leds using direct connection They were fairly bright
Look at THIS

Solder wire to the leds, than solder the resistor to the wire.

I'd suggest you try to use the search button now.

Depends. If you get the radioshack amp, you need a 191kohm and a 30kohm resistor. That's all. Wire the LEDs in parallel. pretty sure you can get ur resistors off radioshack and if not, go to mouser.com.

and i cant seem to find 30k ohn resistor...or lordnico made a mistake and put N instead of M so is it possible that its 30k OHM?
