shorting out psp slim power fuse easy way
« on: November 05, 2008, 08:34:16 AM »
I bought a broken psp slim online, and i want to try to fix it. the previous owner tryed to short out the power fuse and did a bad job doing so. I read on this site that you just put solder over the fuse but is there an easier way to do so like a jumper wire?

Is this even worth fixing?

Guys, please read first before going all wtf did you do on someone.
He bought it online like this.

Do what everyone else said, clean up the board a bit and all you need to do is solder over the fuse. Using a jumper wire is actually a harder way of doing it.

Way to much damage to be repaired.

And secondly, There is no flux at all there.

He's not talking about shorting the psp, guys read.
He was asking how to bridge the fuse the easy way, he just used to wrong terminology.
You guys need to read before saying something.
Way to much damage to be repaired.

And secondly, There is no flux at all there.
Really? I couldn't tell whether it was a bit of flux or just burnt mobo in that third pic. If that's burnt, damn what the hell was the original owner doing to that thing? Blow torching it?! :taunt:

Yup

The Burnt laminate is peeling away from the FR4 base.
Not flux, just singed circuit board.

But still, you don't necessarily have to bridge those two points, I know some other points you can connect to bypass the fuse.
But I think the umd switch will be a problem.
