0603, 0805 or 1206. Confusion !?!?

Hey,

I'm in Australia and the electronics stores are pretty pathetic. I'm planning to pop a few LED's in the triggers and then swap the ones on the mobo for like blue ones. Now I know the ideal size would be 0603 but I can't get my hands on any except for one store which would cost me up to $25 for 10. So I was wondering is, 1206 or 0805 smaller or bigger than 0603 and would they be suitable for the mod ?

0603 is the correct size, you will defently not get away with 1206 for a led swap. The bigger the number the larger the led.

Awesome, thanks for the explanation about the sizes. Looks like I'll have to buy the $25 ones lol. Oh well I'll guess it it will be worth it in the end.  :tup:

There are other places to buy them.

You can get a pack of 50 off of ebay for about 10 - 15 bucks.
