Memory card mod!?? Really!!!???

Last time I checked, the most a PSP 1000 series could have on a Memory Stick Pro Duo was 8gb. Tell me if I'm wrong about that. I know there are 16gb sticks, but I heard they don't register on a PSP fat like mine. I heard a rumor about an adaptor for micro SD cards so that four micro SD's would fit into an adaptor the shape of a Pro Duo, so the PSP can have up to 64 gb of memory (four 16gb micro SD's)! I also heard if you use 8gb micro SD's it'll register as 32gb on the PSP instead of not registering at all. Anyone know anything about this rumor?

Do you know whether or not a 16gb stick will work without any adaptor or anything? I heard the 5.00 OFW update let PSPs use 16gb sticks, but I'm not sure. I've got 5.00 M33-4, so it should work, and I already bought the stick, but shipping will be like, 2 weeks, so I'm really curious now.

I don't know about 16gb but I have an adapter with an 8gb micro sd card (just one) and it works perfectly.
