ok so idk wut wrong wit my pc but its being rly gay
wen i boot up my pc its like normal and the programs show up on the desktop, but after a second or 2 they dissapeer and the only thing showing is the backround, i can push control alt delete to get tskmanager up but then i got a little alert from spy sweeper saying my subscrition is gone so i click on it and there a button saying renew now, and it opened firefox, so tht the only way im able to get on the internet, can someone get the programs and start bar to show up
btw im using windows xp

Go to processes. Find explorer.exe. If it's the, end the process. then go to file > new task. And type explorer and hit enter. If it's not there then just run explorer as I said before.

ok i did that and it returns, but wen i click on it again it disapeers agen

i had the same problem. its somthing up w/ your HDD. back up your data, and perform a system restore.

Chawlie it just sounds like your Explorer file is corrupt. You should be able to system restore it back(depends) or find a backup online or from someone and get that done. You would have to do it through the command prompt, though, since you'd need explorer closed to replace it.

ugh yea so this is sooo annoying ha. like one hour its fine amd it works then the next it like is there and goes away every 2 seconds....
no virus... but do i have to do the bck up? i dont have ne thing to back it up on so uhh any sites?

I had the same issue in vista for a short while; I used a program to scan my explorer extension programs, found the offender, and used ccleaner to remove it

The issue here is I can't remember the name of the scanner program.. Try googling

There is a good program called ComboFix, I used it on my xp ,
it got my wallpaper back cause some virus deleted the file .I dont know will it work with vista but you can try  .
Or another way can be this =
Press ctrl+alt+delet
than at the top it saids File click on that and got to the first one (think its run or open new application)
When the run opened type in "msconfig.exe"
A box should open with tabs
go to the last tab called "tools" (i think)
than go down ,ithink the 10th one is the time machine thing so open that and go back in to date that ur pc was warking .
