I think my ps3 controller is dead :o

hey all
today has been very depressing for me
I am screwing everything up
basically i was going to mod my ps3 controller with the ps button and it wouldnt work...so i removed it and then when i put it all back together it did not work so i opened it checked everything
put it back together no worky and i repeated this abou 5 times

I cannot press the PS buttons to turn on myps3 but when I plug it into the USb then the 4 leds start flashing and the ps3 ays press the ps button but I cant so they just keep flashing
and after a while i thought to myself...zomg NO!!! my controller must be dead
so if anyone can help me or sell me a controller cheap it would be much appriciated\
again, this is my ONLY ps3 controller as I am completely broke

EDIT: would sony fix it for me?

No, they won't as you've opened it up. Wait, actually I don't even know if they do controllers @.@ :/

BUT, open it back up and check the traces for the PS button and make sure the conductive pad is hitting it right and there's nothing blocking it. That, and whatever else people suggest lol. I'm just covering the basics.

I had the same problem with one of my controllers, what happened was the green trace broke on the membrane from the COM point to the PS button trace which rendered that useless, that's why I hate modding ps3 controllers because that damn membrane is so fragile

yeah if u know what your doing try soldering a switch to the PS button points and see if it turns on

wait on the controller
oh thats what that is I thought it gets pushed down when you close the controller
so when id test it i would hold down that button

if that button is held down, it wont turn on or work. if you can get the controller to turn on, press it and it should turn off, resetting the controller, then plug it into USB on the PS3 and press the PS button the controller should hook to the PS3 then unplug it from USB and it should search for the PS3 find it, and connect

still wont work

yeah, im in colorado right now but ill be home tomorrow night, thats why im not online, and i havent had enough time to log in to AIM on my laptop here. Once i get home ill log into AIM first thing and help you out
