Psp button bar problem
« on: January 14, 2009, 09:37:06 PM »
I've got a problem with the home button and volume buttons, they don't work. If I press it, it doesn't do anything. I've took out the ribbon cable and put it back in, but that didn't help.

Is there some plugin I can use to replace those buttons with different ones?

At this point in time, the only choice you have is to replace the whole ribbon bar. I experience this problem once before and by replacing the ribbon bar, I fix the problem. You can pick one up on e-bay for cheap. Unfortunately, there is no way of repairing the original part but to replace. Good Luck...

Go to dealextreme.com or focalprice.com as they have cheap ribbon cables and they have free shipping worldwide.

I wouldent use dealextreme. The products there are sometimes very cheaply made. Thats why they are so cheap to buy. In other words, they are low quality.

seems like you need a new one.

i bought a broken psp once and found that most of the buttons work except for the home button.
it actually turned the lcd off (but i could still hear the menu).

replaced it, and all is well again :)
