is this becuase of a ribbon problem

  It dosnt appear to be broken at all (the screens) it's on top and bottom but the bottom screen has like a faint widescreen look with 2 vertical bars on the top and bottom where the black bars would be on a widescreen movie. Any help would be appreciated thanks.If i open the ds just slightly the bottom screen comes on for a second if that helps.
