anyone seen this ?
« on: January 29, 2009, 06:17:40 PM »
so after I finally got my chip programmed.
When I soldered everything in place, the G3 fires without holding the trigger in on COD4.
It empties every clip.
Any ideas?
All my solder points look clean, and I can cycle through all 3 modes.
When in mode 1 - (Halo 3, dual trigger), it does the same and always brings up the sights in cod4.

This is frustrating.

you didn't solder everything to the trigger(s) properly, or you forgot a transistor between the chip and trigger(s), I think. I know with the 555 timer version, this situation surfaces without a transistor.

this is the 3 mode version right ? you have the line that goes to the left trigger then you have two other wires that connect below it. One is connected properly. I had the exact same issue and thats what ended up fixing it.
Yours might be different though.

yes.  this is the 3 mode version.
The two lines connected below the left trigger would be the ground.
You say one may not be soldered correctly ?

Ok, so when this happens it usually means that the chip is confused about what kind of controller it is operating in.  This is a 3 mode chip for dual RF correct?  It is usually caused by hooking up only one side of the rapid fire. sounds like have both sides hooked up? If not, try hooking the other side instead of the one you hooked up(button and RF output)

can you link me to the exact chip that you ordered? Pictures help too.

I havethe CG controller.
I wired up both triggers.  According to the schematic, I solder to the middle pin on each trigger ?

one more thing,  I'm using the 12F683, again with burnmeup2 code.
Only modifications made were the firerate on mode3 to be COD5 compatible.

ok well i had the matrix version so the wiring is different. So my explination is not going to work. I'd suggest  resoldering everything but thats about it.  I've never managed to get any cg versions controllers. I just bought a new black one last night and its a matrix. The matrix wiring has 2 hots and 1 ground  instead of 2 grounds and 1 hot I would check your two grounds. it sounds like the code is working if your leds go through mode sequencing. Which leads me to believe your programming is just fine.

cattleprod.
Your initial suggestion was dead on.  I had one of my grounds wired to the incorrect pin.
Re-did that and she is good to go.
Thanks for the quick responses.  I really appreciated it.
