Hey guys!!!
« on: January 29, 2009, 06:35:37 PM »
I really have no idea how this obsession started but one day about 2 weeks ago I saw a few modded psps and I was like I have got to do this to mine. So I have been watching videos and all reading all kinds of stuff on hardware modding psp. The only thing I hate is some of the noobs that post stupid ugly ways of doing things. I have been to this site several times but just now decided to register.

Mods I want to do:

  • UMD Clear Door Mod
  • Sound Sensitive Trigger Mod
  • Change the case and button colors on my psp
  • Second Analogue Stick

If any of you would like to link me to tutorials be my guest. I have about 10 trigger tutorials bookmarked but I'm not to sure on a good way to do a clear door mod, most of them look sloppy.

yea welcome, best way for the UMD door mod is use a holesaw to cut the circle and buy a custom engraved jewel.

Thanks I was thinking about using my dremel to cut it out. Got any good place to get a nice jewel?

OH dang I have been to that site more than once in the last few days. I got another question (sorry) I tried looking for a tutorial on a slim trigger sound mod but I can't find one. I have kinda been taking the psp apart with this https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=18858.0 but I'm not really sure how far to go, would really like the help! Rain was helping me a lot but she had to go to bed.

Alright np. For the slim trigger mod, check the stickies in the psp 2000 section. I'll get you a link later if you can't find it. As for how far to take it apart, you basically need to go all the way down to taking out the motherboard. But there are things in between that don't need removing, like the powerboard and the charger port. Basically, follow the tutorial, but things that you don't think will be in your way when removing the motherboard, can be left. Alright so I guess go all the way down to step 14, but it is not necessary to remove the powerboard or the charger port.
