ok for me idk but i heard stories if you buy that nyko intercooler it actually makes your 360 hottter. is ti true? and i was thinking of doing this. the bottom of the 360 is where the air is coming in right? so what if i put 2 pc fans there and rig it up to my wall outlet will it work without making the 360 hotter? and i guess rig 2 more fans to the back

i know everyone wants to know the answers to this question

It does in fact restrict air flow.

You're not going to cool the 360 at all from the outside. No added fans on the outside will cool it down internally, really. It won't help much. Maybe a little, but most likely nothing worth noting.

yea because i heard the nyko fans spin faster wich causes the 360 fans to turn faster to which the fans work harder or w/e and cuase more friction making heat? so best thing is to put it in an air condition room or a room with alot of space right?

No the best thing would be get better internal fans...

The best external would, yeah, pretty much just keeping it in a cool place.

And yeah I think that's what happens, but I think more along the lines of it blocking airflow at the same time. Fans spinning faster doesn't create heat...nothing noticeable.

I bought some talismoon fans and I also did the 12v fan mod to help cool my 360 better. The talismoon fans haven't came yet.

What is the 12v fan mod? Its a mod to the fans to make then run on 12v all the time. It makes your 360 sound like a jet though but it blows out cool air and keeps everything much cooler.

this my xbox, i cut a hole with garden shears wired it to the 12v output on the back of the mobo and put a switch to turn it off and on, since its so damn loud i keep it off at night
but on during the day

, when i have it off my xbox seems to struggle, so its safest to keep it on for me :P

this should be self explanitory
i got the photo off another thread that was abotu the 12v pinouts.
and i warn you i hear word going around about using too much power from there.
it could be caught on M$ screens or smthn, iunno so i just have that no lights there i dont wanna get it banned or nthn. good luck. and i suggest to use 30guage wire if you want to solder to your mobo on the bottom and have it fit snug

thats a big nono my friend, tmandt.
that takes power from the dvd drive
and if theres loss of power to the dvd drive M$
is known to find out and ban the crap outta your console
i say unhook your fans from their current spot and wire them to the bottom of your mobo if u want safe 12v.
if u paid for warranty dont void it until it runs out.
and if you got a jasper model dont worry about doing any cooling mods that thing is already almost RRoD resistant as ive been told
im completely sure. can anyone confirm?

You should do the cooling mod even though the system is a jasper just to prevent it. If you're adding a fan, just wire it the the back of the mobo where the power plug is. I'm getting a 70mm fan to put on top of the small gpu heatsink from DX soon.

ok so i wire black wire of the fan to ground. and red to 12v?

unscrew the motherboard from the metal casing
and flip it over
look by the power plug.
thats where the pinouts are

the intercooler will probably make your 360 RROD quicker, since i read somewhere on the internet that the fans actually blow air IN the 360, not pull it out, thus having a negative effect on the 360's cooling.
