hey all,
today I got my grades...not happy ones
AAABEE
and basically, I have never failed a class before, and i have NO idea what my parents are going to say...I am hoping they wont be too mad but I doubt that. I am guessing they will probably take my mac mini, my 360, my ps3 my soldering irons and just about evrything I care about...just a minute ago i hid 2 of my psps and my tablet and my ipod

so for all I know, I might be offline for up to a couple months

Use your brains, extra help, study, pay attention in class. Do what i dont do..

Also if your parents take your stuff for months, they are quite the mean parents...

E means EPIC FAIL. but Nah Failing Classes I never had to do summer school I just did extra credit.

im glad my parents are cool with my grades even tho i got 2 f's this quarter they just tell me over and over again to try harder this quarter. BTW how are you failing? unless the E is an F but i dont see a "B" as failing. explain to us what an E is and i dont think it means epic fail lol

get a's on tests, quizzes, and exams...test usually are 60% or quarter and exams 20% of semester, quizzes about 20% of quarter too...
get a's on all and you need not do anything else to pass...

or you could go into an AP or IB program, which gives so much weight it isnt even funny...as in I'm in senior year and have a 4.2 gpa...1.1 of that is weighted credit...i rarely do work or even show up...

Where do you go to school that E is fail?

Not bragging, I have one of the lowest GPA's in my class...i wouldnt brag about coming in last..

EDIT: just to point out, I didnt mean he should spontaneously get a's, the point is to focus on getting higher test/quiz/exam/other high percentage grades rather than worry too much about HW-

generally 10% of score

If you spend 4hrs a night doing hw you will probably burn out, lots of people do at some point, then they just will drop out or do nothing to pass from then on just because they lose the motivation to work hard,
instead devote fewer hours per night into hw and more into getting a high grade on the test at the end of the week.
In general, if you study 2 hrs per night you will do better on the test than if you do hw for 4 hrs...most hw is just time consuming, not helpful
Studying and getting high test scores while doing some of the HW will generally result in higher scores than a 100% HW grade with low test scores

well your mainly A's and B's so you should be fine my parents were happy with me getting B's C's E's and U's at A-Level so you should be fine

I work pretty hard in my classes, except for maths and geography. Maths is very worrying, I know, but the school needs a new maths teacher. Our old teacher everyone hated, she was so strict it was unreal. So she left at the end of last year, and we just went mental. Planners are thrown everywhere, she actually lets my table listen to music because we get more work done when we do (still not much). Geography... Meh. I don't need that.

I dont do geography anymore (Yay!) because of options, but maths... My maths teacher has a really REALLY strong jamaican accent, i cant understand half the stuff he says so my maths grade are slowly going down, plus I sit next to some guy that sings all lesson, really badly, its so annoying

All the other lesssons though Im fine with

yea, my world studies/geography teacher has a rlly heavy accent as well
but I get all A's in math...even tho i missed 21 out of 28 homeworks :P

if you spent as much time on homework as you did on Acidmods, I bet you would have As across the board

All I can say is that you are getting to the age where grades will have an effect on what path your life will take in the future. Get it together, I know for a fact you can do well in all of ur classes if you put your time into them. 21/28 homeworks missing? theres your problem right there, if you dont do well with your homework you will never pull the grades in class.(I know you still did well in math but I am assuming some of your Es had a lot to do with not doing homework.)

In a lot of ways you are lucky to be learning this lesson right now, instead of breezing through high-school and your first year of college, only to find out the hard-way in your second year of college that you need to do homework and work hard.(Learning this lesson now will save you $$$ in future) Pulling As isnt all that hard, a lot of it has to do with your work ethic and how your teacher percieves your work ethic.

I graduated college with 3.85 gpa, you cant get above a 4.0 in college or university. 93 and above is 4.0, the reason I say this is that you may catch some flack for saying that you had a 4.2gpa when really most all educational institutions recognize 4.0 as the highest possible score. (nice work anyway, keep it up!)

Maybe he means he has a .42 gpa.. I had a 3.80 threw out high school. I really didn't care much about school. But I did what I had to.

my grades are actually:
A,B,E,C,E,B
and I have a meeting tomorrow with all my teachers and parents
and I will proly have a sore ass and my ears will be ringing

OK, so far things are going ok
just talked wiht my dad, and I came up with some ideas for punishment to help me get better grades
so:
1Hr on comp perday(unless HW related) more if he thinks I am improving
no vid games untile weekend after checked my grades and my homework agenda
no tv unless all HW is complete
no modding unless all HW is finished and checked
get rid of all the

in my room, my room is messy lol
basicaly, no free time until they say i can

dude, that's my daily life even WITH a 3.8 GPA. Here's my laundry list:
1 hour of videogames/computer a day, only when hw is done.
No modding till HW is done (that's a new one, my dad made it up bout a month ago...)
And no videogames/computer/tv unless I have a clean room...

I wonder what would happen if I got an F..

Well school's never really been a problem for me, but yeah that sucks. I mean, I'm not doing the best at school, but I'm doing better than most. School still stresses me out though, as I still have to try hard for some subjects that I'm weak in. But yeah best way to improve marks is to spend more time working on school work, and less time doing less important things like modding, video games, etc.

Im a senior in High School. Weighted credit allows over 100%
a friend of mine has a 5.2 and a few others have just above a five...they have had all a's throughout high school other than one or two classes with 1.2 or so points of weight added on, giving higher than 100%.

For college applications sake, above a four is recognized and appreciated, although I do understand that some schools could care less once you reach a certain minimum.

It works for me. I have done that once or twice because I knew that they were coming up due to some grades my teachers did not put in. My parents don't usually even ask I just do that just in case. But I am doing better in school now so I don't need to do that. Of course I thought I would have to with the way spansih was going earlier this year.
