.exe for firefox is blocked?
« on: March 03, 2009, 11:30:34 AM »
i think the tech dept. blocked the executable for firefox at my school... is there any way to work around this (when you click on it it says "this action has been restricted by your system administrator" or something similar) on pc and mac? https:// is blocked on IE and Safari... i want proxy's so i can access the sites i need to (some for legitimate school work  :faint:)

LOL yeah and my school has this policy form thing that you have to signature to allow you to use the computers and one of the policies is "do not check emails during school time" even though they don't block hotmail.

uhhh maybe you can try opening cmd by opening not pad and type command.com then savie it as command.com.bat then open it then type "start google.com" with out the quotes of course it might work or you can make a startup usb os with ubuntu linux ( sorry i forgot the proper words for it i hope you know what im talking about) well its what i always use at skool and my friends always ask to borrow it.

If there using vista, just highlight it and File > Run as adminstrator

In XP, just right click, send to compressed folder, and open it from there

:D

well its a pc class so we still have command prompt... but run as admin doesnt work... they wont even let the teacher use firefox (he is A+ and CISCO certified so...)

also with command.com.bat how do you get it to stop scrolling down? its on and infinite loop it seems... i am not putting in any commands but it seems to think i am >.<

No you did something wrong. If you opened notepad, only typed "command.com" and saved it, it should work.

i think kilokk is talking about installing it to the HDD.

you guys are saying make a usb/live cd version of it.

i do that at school. ubuntu 8.1 and backtrack 3

they really dont care as long as i dont screw with anything.

i prefer live cd's though, its much easier to do and less pain in the ass.

lol =\ I got suspended for a shutdown batch file for "inappropriately programming the computers" >.< It's only cause i made it run on start-up. Also, they were really pissed because our teachers are a bunch of old people and they have no clue how to use a computer so they're like "OMG NOW WE HAVE TO GET SCHOOL BOARD PEOPLE TO FIX IT!!!" but then they had a tech guy there so it was okay... Anyway it's not like I wouldn't have fixed it if they asked.

Haha yes school rules are bs for computers. I coded a simple java script code called crazy java most of you have probably seen it or used it they banned my computer privileges for a whole year because the teacher was all freaked out and he was like OMG you broke the computer xD

yeah... not as bad as when i got ISR (they stick you in a room where you must be completely silent with only 2 bathroom breaks.) for locking all the admins out of a computer (didnt even know that was possible) and making it so the computer had nothing but student accounts... all because i know how to run firefox out of a folder... WTF? i dont even LOOK like a classic nerd >.< why was it my fault automatically? i walk into the class and the school cop and all the admins were there... THEY :censored:ING CUFFED ME!!! THEY WANTED TO PRESS CHARGES!!! (destruction of property) because they thought the computer couldnt be saved (it was new) but everyone in my PC class came to my rescue (stating that windows could simply be reinstalled) so they settled for ISR

In my computer class, I was shutting down random people's computers and someone told the teacher their computer kept shutting down. The teacher thought the power cable was loose.

Try here http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ they have some nice apps. Just check it out. Not all the apps on there are linux.

Rofl... I remember I put a Proggy that Steals OS serial codes, in the schools main share folder. I recived 130 Serial codes that month... Till I deleted its funny no one knew what it did. It was labeled SchoolPicture.exe once ran an image would show up of the schools Staff then it would close. Some people just don't understand .exe from a .jpg it was good times.
