opening case for a few mods?

well this spring i plan on on opening my xbox360 case.i m going to paint it black with purple flames,and cut a design it the case,and try to light it up with lights.now heres my question,what kind of preparation do you guys think i should do for this?and how would i setup the lights?and there power source?thank you!!!!!

Get yourself a dremel for cutting the design if you don't already have one. For lighting, wire the LEDs to the 5v source with a resistor. If you doing a lot of lights, use the 12v source.

well go to the store, find a dremel (about $30), draw your design, do not cut on the line, cut before, sand till perfect smooth, then paint and since you said you do not have any experience in modding, for you i would recommend the aurora led lights or something if you wanted to do lighting.  :yess:

clean everything

ground yourself

clean and flat workplace

little tupperware for screws and small parts (i use a 35mm film canister)

when disassembling, put the parts in a fashion that will jumpstart your memory in case u forget what goes where

watch MORE THAN 1 tutorial, i made the mistake of assuming someone was right and messed up big time
the more u watch, the more u gain experience and will have less problems
