i have a customers psp at where i work its a slim and it will not turn on it charges on mains i have tried two battries it has been sent off for repair previously and the ppl that did it destroyed it all they had to do was replace the analog block but the broke the screen and now it wont turn on so if anyone knows whats wrong with it let me know
just to be clear ill write the excat proplem

the psp will charge from the mains but the psp will not power on at all i have tried with and without battery on mains and without it will only charge

ok fixed that bit it willl now turn on but the screen is blank no light nothing everything is connected properly yet nothing anyhelp

its not bricked it now turns on i can hear the sounds and everything but no thing on the screen no backlight or anything ive checked in the light i cant see anything on the screen

Try bridging a resistor (not sure which one).

Green one is the backlight fuse... try soldering the two ends together if that does not work then you need a new screen http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10158

Be careful soldering the backlight fuse as i screwed up my mobo trying to solder it. Stupid fat soldering irons

im curious, i have not modded my own psp, my dad has an issue with me taking apart something that works, even with my history in electronics(for 17 i work extremely well with electronics) but a kid at my school broke his slim(has no idea what happened) sent it to sony they sent it back and wouldnt fix it. it wont turn on at all, how did you get yours to turn on?

it is partially bricked i have had a couple people bring me psps like that they would boot up you'd hear sound and the screen would stay off the first one i replaced the screen with a brand new screen still did it so i popped in my MMS and pandora battery and tryed to reflash it and it worked so try reflashing it and see if that helps no clue what causes it but reflashing it usually fixes hope it helps

the original poster but yours sounds like a ribbon cable or something came loose inside maybe from the powerboard or the powerboard might have died too i would crack it open and take a look and if your dad says anything be like it didn't work anyways and if you break it its your fault and your the one without a psp not him LOL

ya well its not my psp, and the kid already opened before giving it to me, so ill finish the tear down, and get back with what i see

edit:
so i opened it, and nothing was(looked) burnt out, or anything like that, so i put it back together and then i am told by my brother(who is in the same grade as this kid) that the owner of the psp had his friends try and fix it, i know the people and they have no idea what they were doing, whichever one had it last even forgot three of the screws. The charging light comes on, and it will start to turn on(while plugged in)(before anything shows up, it dies) so any help would be great, sounds like a brick to me(though thats a guess cause i dont know what a bricked psp looks like), i dont have the resources to make a pandora's battery, so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great

it sounds bricked there are programs out that will let you turn your battery into a pandora battery then back to normal no clue what it is though i hardmoded a original psp battery to a pandora so never needed but if you look around on psp-hacks i'm sure the program is there good luck with it let us know how it goes with the psp

well i made a pandora's battery out of the kids battery(i know risky) my second one, i did mine like 5 mins before doing his, but i got everything and put a cfw on my fat, but when i tried his, it did nothing... green power light came on and stayed on, but the screen didnt come on and nothing else seemed to be working, so i converted the battery back, and it does what it did before, the power light comes on then shuts off after about 3 seconds, and he was running ofw, not cfw

p.s. i have finally modded my psp, i used the kids broken psp as a reason to do mine, you know... make sure i had everything working correctly

um.. you need a magic memory stick/jig kick. It's more than likely bricked. nothing showed up when you popped the battery in because you NEED the magic memory stick.

Have you tried to boot up the eboot repair menu? yeah you probably did, but just asking.

If that does not fix it try to re-flash your PSP.

um he was on an official firmware, and had no idea how to do that, ill try and get it to try and fix it again
