JoblessPunk's Concept: Internal PSP Camera with Flash
« on: April 06, 2009, 12:19:34 AM »
Hello!
Ok I need some help with this.
After reading prettierwendead modding plans his flash idea intrigued me.

So after bouncing ideas around in my head here’s my idea for an internal Camera with a flash.
I don’t really understand electricity or making things work, but I’m full of ideas.
Here’s a picture first. (It says a thousand words.)

My concept is to have the camera in the center of the UMD door (just like I have in my mod)then adding a SUPER BRIGHT WHITE LED next to it.
Everything will be controlled with the WiFi switch.DarkShot told me that the WiFi switch can only turn on and off LEDS, so I have a switch that is connected to the WiFi switch. Once you move one, you basically move 2 switches.

Step one.
You turn on the WiFi switch.
With that the red LED under the R trigger lights up, the second switch to “plug in” the camera turns on, and the button to the pressure sensitive button under the X Button becomes active.

Step two.

Once you are in camera mode to take a picture all you do is push the R trigger. The whole time that the camera is “plugged in” the R trigger LED will be lit (no matter if you are using the camera or not.)

Step three.
Ok now to take a picture with the Flash.
You would hold down the X button to turn on the SUPER BRIGHT WHITE LED then with the R trigger you would take a picture. Then to turn off the “Flash” all you would do is let go of the X Button.

So please, anyone that knows how to wire this could you please help me.
Also, anyone that has any input or ideas please post them here!
Thanks!

This stuff is really tricky, you have to position the flash in the EXACT spot or you will wipe out your entire picture white, or miss the flash all together if it's too far.

Yeah I could see that happening,
my idea is based mostly on a cell phone I saw. I don't remember witch one it was, but they had a super bright LED next to the Camera and used it as a flash. It worked really well for what it was haha.

Push-To-Light POC

this is exactly what I want to do for the flash, but instead of making the triggers light up I want the "flash LED" to light up.

Can anyone direct me to the tutorial on how to do this?

Thanks!
